The Israel Defense Forces announces that four soldiers were killed fighting in the Gaza Strip yesterday, bringing the death toll since Israel began its ground offensive against Hamas to 23. They are: Cpt. Beni Wais, 22, a company commander in the 460th Armored Brigade`s 195th Battalion, from Haifa. Master Sgt. (res.) Uriah Mash, 41, a reservist soldier in the 401st Armored Brigade`s 52nd Battalion, from Talmon. Sergeant Major Yehonatan Yosef Brand (Res) 28, a reservist with the 52nd Battalion, 401st Armored Brigade, based in Jerusalem. Sgt. Maj. Gil Pisitz (Les), 39, a tank operator with the 9th Battalion, 401st Armored Brigade, from Harish. Additionally, a soldier from the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade and a reservist from the 7008th Battalion of the 551st Brigade were seriously injured during operations in the Gaza Strip, the IDF announced.
