Rioters storm airport in Russia’s Dagestan in hunt for Jews aboard flight from Israel

Hundreds of people attempted to confront Jewish passengers on a flight from Israel on Sunday night by storming into the main airport in the Dagestan area of Russia and onto the landing strip. Israel has called on Russia to defend its residents due to the violence that has broken out in the predominantly Muslim territory during the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Videos of the protestors racing onto the runway and smashing through doors and barriers have surfaced on social media and on Russian media outlets Izvestia and RT. Many of the demonstrators were yelling "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest)."Hundreds of people were at the airport in Makhachkala. A group of about fifty guys asked the passengers on the aircraft if they were Jewish. I declined. I'm from Russia. Russian-speaking Israeli reporter Alex Bendersky of Carmel News reports that no passengers were injured in the incident. Carmel News reports that youngsters from Dagestan who had received medical care in Israel were on board the aircraft.
